Your Servant Needs Preservin’

Because I trust upon you, Lord, I hope that you’re protectin’.

You’ll teach and guide me in your ways and save, ‘cause I’m expectin’.

Remember, Lord, your steadfast love, your ancient ways of mercy.

Forget MY own more recent sin, be faithful to YOUR hist’ry.

—-

You’re good, you teach us humble folk the ways that we should go in.

You pardon people like myself who “better” should be knowin’.

So we and our posterity will flourish in your presence

And keep our eyes upon you Lord, when rescue is of essence.

—-

So turn to me with lavish grace. I’m lonely and afflicted.

Relieve my trouble, bring me out of what’s on me inflicted.

My enemies are many and their hate I’m not deservin’.

You’ll guard my life, for I’m upright. Your servant needs preservin’.

Patiently Wait for God

Patiently wait for God; keep to the way that’s shown.

You’ll be protected and kept safe, as evil’s overthrown.

From towers evil’s reign seems sometimes to abound.

Give it some time, and God will win; smash towers to the ground.

===

Blameless and upright be, for there’s prosperity

In peaceful life lived by the Lord. Wickedness gets cut off.

Seek God in troubled times; In God your refuge find.

Rescue and righteousness abide,at the Eternal’s side.

When Our Ways Delight the Lord

When the Lord enjoys our way, steps are firmed and paths are planned.

Though we stumble, we won’t stray, for our lives are in God’s hand.

—-

Though once young I now am old. Let me tell you what I’ve seen.

Good abides within God’s fold, flourishing and evergreen.

—-

Lend and give without regret. Bless your children, ev’ry one.

God loves justice, don’t forget! With the Lord, forever run.

Open Up Your Ears and Listen (Psalm 95:7-11)

Open up your ears and listen for the grace-filled word of God.

Don’t be like the generations who had sent their hearts on HARD.

—–

People who have seen God working, but whose hearts have gone astray;

Miss the rest that God has waiting, and the peace God sends their way.

Live Free of Blame

Live free of blame, and you can claim a heritage unending.

There’ll be no shame in evil days when famine is impending.

—-

The wicked perish e’re they flourish and like smoke they’ll vanish.

The righteous live in blessing and they always seem to manage.

The Lord is Entertained

With wicked plots against good folks the Lord is entertained.

For God knows that the day will come when all will be explained.

When swords are drawn and bows are bent to bring down those in need,

The Lord is sure to frustrate those whose plan is human greed.

—-

The humble life with just enough, a righteous person has

Is better than the riches many evil folks amass.

The guns and arms of wickedness will surely broken be.
The Lord upholds the righteous and maintains them merrily.

Be Still Before the Lord

Be still before the Lord, and patiently await.

Don’t envy other folks, or follow evil ways.

A life of angry wrath, is evil’s surest path.

And those who tread it find a dreadful aftermath.

—-

So wait a little while, and they will disappear.

You’ll diligently seek, but will not find them near.

The land is for the meek, so do not look to fight.

In what the LORD bestows, abundantly delight.

In God’s delight like noonday light your cause will find full viewing.

Let Me Have Some Fun

O Lord, heed this pray’r. More than that, please care.

See my flowing tears. Comfort all my fears.

—-

I’m just here a while, and I’d like to smile.

Turn your gaze away; give me space to play.

—-

E’re I die I’ll grieve, for my sin… then leave.

Soon enough, I’m done. Let me have some fun.

Lord, What Am I Waiting For?

Lord, what am I waiting for? My own sin at last has found me.

I’ve been foolish, suffer scorn, Nothing good to say about me.

Strike me, smite me, as you will… All my hope is in you still.
