John was first, and Jesus second. Each pleased God in different ways.
At the time of his baptism, Jesus heard God’s love and praise.
—–
Praise and love did not protect him, from the scourge of loneliness,
nor from hunger, thirst, temptation, or of danger and duress.
—–
John, once gone, left place for Jesus to emerge from Galilee
Preaching that the time had come to turn around and to believe.
