Everything an Eye Can See

Everything an eye can spy

proclaims your true religion:

flags and statues, cemeteries,

spires in prime positions.

Sometimes what you worship shows that

you don’t know what’s in it..

I proclaim the one who made the

world and ev’ry minute.

—–

God who made the earth and sky is

 not enshrined in structures..

Nor can anything we bring

provide a moment’s wonders.

People over all the earth through

culture and religion

seek the same and often claim

to find a good solution.

—–

Look not “there” nor “here” for God is near

 to ev’ry seeker,

found in poetry and art,

 in music, dance and teachers.

Unlike gold or stone, and far from

our imagination,

Also found in one who died and rose to

bring salvation.
