In nearness to the Lord we’re safe.
God’s holiness ennobles.
We opt for God for our own sake
to save us from the troubles
that come when we’ve no boundaries
and selfishness runs r-a-m-pant.

The counsel of the Lord instructs
our very deepest places.
Secure in here we need not fear
unnumbered vile disgraces.
Upon this path of life there’s joy
and pleasure’s ever p-r-e-sent.
