Strong in his faith, by the Spirit enthralled,
Jesus fasted and prayed. Forty days.
The tempter appeared with suggestions and calls,
“Test yourself, if you really have faith.”

High on a steeple, equipped with a verse
once again, did the tempter entice.
“With angels attending your image comes first.
Make a show, it can really feel nice.”

All of the splendors of earth don’t compare
to the wonders that God has prepared.
“All worship and service belong to the Lord.
Go away, this is my final word.”
