On seeing Jesus, John declared,
“Behold, the lamb of God,
who takes away the sin of peo-
ple, water, sky and sod.
I told you he would come. It’s to
reveal him that I’m here.
I didn’t know; the Spirit showed
and made it plainly clear.”

John’s own disciples left him then,
and walked on Jesus’ route.
He asked what they were after. They asked
“Rabbi, where’s your house?”
He bid them, “Come and see,” and they
remained that afternoon.
Then Andrew found his brother Si-
mon; brought him to the room.
—–
“You’re Simon, I will call you Ce-
phas, for a rock you’ll be.”
You, son of John, my brother now,
throughout eternity.
Some people may mistreat you and
some others call you names,
but by and by both low and high
will know you as a saint.”
