So Unlike a Deer

Severed from the closeness that we once enjoyed;

Wandering in anguish, pondering the void.

Memories; some haunt me, leaving me no rest.

Was this your intention, or is it a test?

Somewhere deep inside me, softly whispers hope.

“This won’t last forever, you’ve still got some rope.”

Cataracts and breakers, thunder, crash and wave.

Yet a song yet remains of, One who comes to save.

…

I’ve not been forgotten, nor have I been scorned.

I’ll hope in the Lord who brings light ev’ry morn’.
