Help our leaders, God, remember that they aren’t your counselors.
Give them what YOU see WE need of justice, righteousness and more.

Help us to resist temptation to regard them as your choice.
Teach them how to humbly listen to your gentle guiding voice.

By your steadfast love protect us all from malice, greed and strife.
May we trust in you for all things as we navigate this life.

Stand between us, Lord, and those who see us as their enemies.
As you love us, nudge and shove us ‘til we live in amity.
