Do Not Fear, O Soil

The Locust Plague of 1915

Do not fear, O soil, rejoice, for God, your Lord has done great things.

Do not fear, you animals, the fields and wilderness are green.

God has sent the rain in season, heaven’s favor has revealed.

Trees bear fruit and vines are laden. All creation gives full yield.

—–

Threshing floors are full of grain, wine and oil vats overflow.

No more army of destroyers shall across your croplands go.

You shall eat to satisfaction, nevermore be put to shame.

God is Lord, there is no other. Call upon the holy name.

—–

Sons and daughters all shall prophesy. Old and young will dream big dreams.

Men and women filled with spirit will be bathed in freedom’s streams.

Heaven, earth be full of signs upon the Lord’s great coming day.

Everyone who calls on God will know that they are truly saved.
