Transactionality

We sinned first, God. Now it’s your turn. You’ve got work to do.

Show your mercy; wash and cleanse us. Make us white as snow.

Put a new, right spirit here,

and our inward joy renew.

Then we’ll sing of your sal-va-tion,  ev’ry one will know.

—–

How our sin and our transgression dominate our sight

What we’ve done against you God was evil, now we see.

You desire that truth abide

in our hearts and make us right.

Now it’s your turn, hide your face. Make cleanliness again.

—–

Make us happy, make us stand. Make music and we’ll dance.

Give us health and we will praise, transgressors learn your way.

You don’t want burnt offerings.

Broken spirits have a chance.

So restore our city first, then we’ll bring those to you.
