Sentenced to be Executed

Sentenced to be executed, running off to die;

visited by one who brought necessities for life;

fortified for journey to a place where he could be revived;

yet he held on tightly to self-pity and to grief.

Shown the might behind him through an earthquake, wind and fire;

met with silence from the One who called him to look higher;

still afraid, maintaining that a threat of death assured his fate;

Nonetheless went on a mission that would make him great.
