Does not Wisdom call;
Understanding raise her voice?
On the heights beside the way,
at the crossroads and the gates,
“To you people all I cry,
heed my words and live!”
—–
“Learn some self restraint.
Hear, for I say noble things.
I speak truth, not wickedness.
All my words are righteousness.
There is nothing bent in them.
Hear and understand!
—–
Nothing you desire,
can compare with what I teach.
Put away perverted speech.
Neither silver, gold nor gem
has the power or the strength
that you’ll find right here.
—–
Wisdom is the pow’r
by which rulers govern right;
diligently seek and find
paths of justice, ways of light;
honor in God’s holy sight;
treasure that endures.
