Philip asked to see the Father, Jesus answered “look at me”
Then launched off in a direction that his asker hadn’t seen.
“Don’t you see that I am in the Father and he is in me?
Let the things I’ve done bear witness that I speak with verity.
One day you’ll do these things too, and greater even than I’ve done.
Use my name when asking and you’ll get it all. I am the Son.
Do what I’ve commanded and another one will come to you.
Others cannot know him, but like me he’ll live within you too.
These are things I’ve told you while I’m still around and not yet dead.
But the one who’s coming will remind you of what I have said.
Peace I leave you, peace I give you. Hold this hope and do not fear.
Very soon I’ll leave so that another can be with you here.”
