
Early in the morning when they took him to the guv’,
they declined to enter so they just gave him a shove.

Asked for accusations, they asserted he was bad.
Pilate told them to go back if that’s all that they had.

What was in their hearts and on their lips was what they said
They were not the only ones who wanted Jesus dead.

Pilate summoned Jesus, asking, “Are you, then, a king?”
Jesus asked him where he learned about this kind of thing.

“Your own nation and its priests have brought you to me here.
Tell me what you’ve done, if nothing, then you need not fear.”

“Okay, I’m a king, but not of kingdoms like your own.
I was born to testify of truth to everyone.
