On the night he was betrayed, Christ Jesus took some bread,
giving thanks, he broke and shared it. This is what he said.

“Do this to remember me”, and then he took a cup,
Lifting it, he made a promise, later sealed in blood.
—–
So as often as we eat this bread and drink this cup
We proclaim our savior’s death until again he comes.
—–
These are pledges and a foretaste of the feast of love
we will share with unveiled faces when the world is done.
