Don’t Be Unaware

Don’t be unaware, my kindred, your ancestors were not clear,

When they joined the little band and, following someone, came here.

Though convinced their cause was righteous, and their methods were divine,

Yet they failed to please their maker, falling out along the line.

See them as a good example of the things that evil does.

Hold control as you engage with food and treasure, come what must.

Sex is good, for God designed it. Don’t get lost in wanton ways.

Find your limits and respect them. Let them guide you all your days.

Thank the Lord for stories that, when passed along, can show the way.

If we stand by our own strength we’ll fall, so near to God we stay.

Everyone is tempted, tested. God knows where your limits lay.

With the challenge God provides enduring pow’r to pass the day.
