He faithfully had followed when his God had said to go,
Yet found the ground to challenge what the Lord had said was so.
Though he had “this” and he had “that” he didn’t have it ALL.
The word was heard on high and he received an outward call.
—–
Beneath a starry sky and tasked to make an awesome count,
response of faith then came, which almost ended all his doubt.
A further promise brought it back, so he received a dream
A vision and a voice confirmed what he came to believe.

Eight lines! A vocal remembrance of promises that span most all of time, with images of stars to infinity and beyond! Beyond comprehension!

Thanks. Sometimes condensation is merited because the scripture is too wordy. Other times it’s in order to fit meter and rhyme.
If you’re good with tunes (which I suspect you might be), write something else and add a bridge. All I’ve done is set up a passage to be sung. Let it be sung now, to whatever tune or beat suits the church.
