Do Good to Those Who Hate You

Do good to those who hate you, and love your enemies.

If someone curses, bless them, and pray if they abuse.

To anyone who strikes you, present another chance.

Give freely if you have them, your shirt and coat and pants.

—–

Feed beggars what you have and don’t ask to get it back.

The treatment that you want is the way to set your tack.

Remember, sinners also love those who love them too,

So if you’d like some credit, love people who hate you.

—–

Be merciful, remember the image that you bear.

Don’t judge, but be forgiving. We’re all in need of care.

Be generous and loving. Consider not the cost.

Almighty God will see that you do not suffer loss.
