When stocks are sold, and profits taken,
before you buy a brand new car,
first turn to Heaven in thanksgiving
for what you have and all you are.
Let everybody know what’s done;
share what you have with everyone.

Don’t make a secret of your fortune,
or share a gesture meaningless.
Give what is best, and then go on to
spend on yourself from what is left.
More than with what you hoard in banks,
this is the way to show your thanks.
