Clean Release

When one has served a prison term, the punishment should end.

But in some places life’s arranged preventing an ascent.

Denied the vote, a home, a job by records that hang on.

A woman hoes a harder row for having once done wrong.

—–

The sentence’ end might best present release into new life.

But all too often one’s release returns to former strife.

Transition pros who somehow know the ropes, and where to look

can guide the way and help one stay quite far away from crooks.
