If you want credit for a gift, don’t put it in your will.
Don’t make folks wait until you’re dead, when they can send a bill.
Write out the check yourself and bring or send it to the place
where those who are in charge can take it into their embrace.

The people who administer the charity we give
are worthy of the portion set aside on which they live.
If all were run by volunteers so much would go undone:
the roof would leak, there’d be no heat and all would fall to ruin.
