When leaders sin in ignorance,
they’re not excused.
They’re guilty just like everyone
when they abuse.
When their offences are revealed
they’ve things to do.

In public sight, they must do right,
not out of view.
Not proudly but with hearts contrite
their sin un-do.
This messy necessary act
they can’t eschew.
—–
There’s something lost, and nothing gained
for livelihood
If leaders think they’re not restrained
by common good.
Some sacrifice to make things right
is understood.
