Ignorance is no excuse, sin is what we’ve done.
Things have got to be put right; sacrifices brung.
Nobody is perfect and no one sins alone.
So procedures are laid out by which we atone.
Something’s died; we cannot hide, smell of our offense.
Guts and blood are spread abroad making little sense.
Ashes and repentance can travel hand in hand.
In good cheer we rise from fear, free to live again.
