It’s Not Really Ours

Residing on this land, yet, we know it is not ours.

It once belonged to others. They’re not here anymore.


It flowed with milk and honey, as fertile as a pot;

Our careless use polluted the loveliness we’d got. 


No longer clean and fertile, these never come to mind. 

The heat and spreading deserts left death and rot behind.
