You Birthed Us, Nursed Us

Eternal love, you birthed us, nursed us, claimed us; we are yours.

Your name compared with others is the holiest, of course.

The ways of heaven come to creation to transform

that all according to your will becomes the human norm.

—–

The bread you see we need each day we pray that you will give.

The sin that comes between us, that we trust you to forgive,

And guide us to release sin in others that we hold,

and spare us from hard te-st-ing. We’re neither brave nor bold.

—–

From evil that’s inside us, purify us, make us clean.

From evil that’s around us, please, surround us, be our screen.

All kingdom and all power and glory that have been

are yours now and forever, through eternity, Amen.
