Don’t, Just Don’t

Don’t envy the wicked or want to be with them

They’re violent minded and speak only bad.

Don’t wait by the home of the righteous like outlaws

The Lord is on watch and will help them to stand.

—–

When enemies fall you should not be rejoicing.

Take nothing of pleasure if sadness befalls.

God’s anger toward them is not for you to boast of,

And if turned on you can be more than your fill.

—–

Leave evil folks, wicked folks to their devices

For they have no future, their lamp will go out

Take care to obey both the Lord and the sovereign

For each has the power to put you to rout.

—–

If there is no cause don’t speak ill of a neighbor

Your mouth should speak truthfully or be kept shut.

Don’t say what you’ll do to another in vengeance.

Just leave things to God who’ll take care of them all.
