
Keep watch upon the ways you take, for though they may seem right,
they could just lead straightway to death or injury and fright.

The heart knows its own bitterness, no stranger shares its joy.
In laughter there is sadness. Grief awaits and will destroy.

The folly of a fool misleads. Destruction’s near at hand.
Confession for the soul is good, it makes us understand.

We think we’re fine, untouched by sin, on paths that never curve.
But in the end, upright or bent, we’ll have what we deserve.
