A scoffer responds to rebuke with abuse;
the wicked both hate and refuse.
The wise, through correction, find insight and gain,
and will love you in manners diffuse.

The fear of the Lord is where wisdom begins,
and years it will add to your life.
God wills that both knowledge and days multiply.
Do not scoff, when you choose, opt for wise.
