When the Skids Lead to the Pits

When the skids led to the pits, and deep darkness held me,

Then I cried unto the Lord; who, from heaven, heard me.

—–

Rescue came, and there’s no shame. I could walk securely.

From the wallow to the rock, cleansed for living purely.

—–

No more cries or woeful sighs, Songs of joy and praising.

Listen, see and joyful be, festal anthems raising

—–

.“Paying dues” is of no use. God pays close attention.

Flips the systems we’ve imposed, treats us with affection.

—–

God is better than the rest, nothing holds a candle.

Make the Lord your trust and there’s nothing you can’t handle.
