Bad people don’t fight fairly, Lord; please save me from their plots.
Their tongues are sharp, their words are hard, and they take fearless shots.
—-
There’s no relent in their intent to set out secret snares.
They’re very keen to stay unseen as evil they prepare.
—-
So shoot them down, and wound them, quick, and bring them to their ruin.
Then everyone will spread the word of what you have been doin’.
—-
We’ll think about the way that you provide a special place
where righteous folks of ev’ry type find refuge from disgrace.
