Salvation’s Mighty Rock

How long, O adversaries, as upon a leaning wall,

will you be pushing ‘gainst me in your quest to see me fall?

In falsehood you take pleasure; you speak in words so nice.

Your hearts are full of curses and thoughts enwrapped in lies.

—-

I hope in heaven. My soul awaits my God.

This fortress won’t be sha-ken; salvation’s, salvation’s mighty rock.

—-

High class is no protection and low class is not a bane.

Eternally they’re nothing, so to hope in them is vain.

Don’t trust in your investments, their value can go down.

In God is your salvation, a refuge that is sound.

—-

I hope in heaven. My soul awaits my God.

This fortress won’t be sha-ken; salvation’s, salvation’s mighty rock.

—-

O God, you’ve spoken to us more than once and we have heard,

through sisters, mothers, prophets and the One who was the Word.

With you are both forgiveness and power to repay.

You’ll openly display them upon the final day.

—-

I hope in heaven. My soul awaits my God.

This fortress won’t be sha-ken; salvation’s, salvation’s mighty rock.
